Last night in Arlene’s

Hey folks,

Im still buzzing today from the great show we had in Arlene’s Grocery last night. It was my third time playing in Arlene’s, although the last time I graced their stage was way back in summer 2009. It was nice to be back! With a nice slot at 9PM, we managed to squeeze in 10 tracks and the set list was as follows…

1. Building a Picture

2. Fair Weather

3. I Already Know

4. For the Meantime

5. It Slows Down

6. Corner of the Room

7. Take My Advice

8. Always To Blame

9. Closing Doors

10. Simple Gesture

I was delighted to be joined on stage with Jacob Pleakis on Keys, Kenny Shaw on Drums, and Rob Pawlings on Bass. This was the first time I had played with the guys since almost a year and half ago, and with only two rehearsals under our belts I thought we alright… a little nervous tension never done any harm! So many dear friends made the effort to come down to Arlene’s and it really means a lot to me. This was the first of what I hope to be a long list of full band shows, and it really couldn’t have went any better!

Here’s a couple of snaps from my pal Alexis Moniello (best surname ever).

I should have a few more snaps online for you all soon, and I’ll be announcing details of more shows in the not too distant future, so keep an eye here or on the myspace/facebook page for updates.

Rock on good people!

John :) xo

Full Band Show…Feb 23rd

People of New York! I am delighted to announce that my first full band show since landing in NYC will be in the wonderful Arlene’s Grocery on Wednesday, February 23rd at 9pm. Located at 95 Stanton Street in the lower east side, Arlene’s has seen the likes of R.E.M, Jeff Buckley and the Strokes perform within their walls, so I am really looking forward to this one. Gonna get some nice rehearsals with my dear friends Kenny, Jacob and Rob this week, which will be a lot of fun. Last time I played Arlene’s it was the summer of 09 and I cant wait to play it again.

In other news I played a sweet gig on Wednesday past in the Delancey (on Delancey st.). It was an all acoustic affair, with some fine singer-songwriters on the bill. I was delighted to be asked to play, and I had the tough job of opening up the show… i will hopefully have some footage/sounds from the show very soon for those of you who couldn’t make it down. Huge thanks however to the people who did come along, and also to my new friend Sandy Irani for giving me the slot on the bill.

Rock on good people.

John :) xo
