Last night at Rockwood

What can I say about last night??

It was my first show at Rockwood Music Hall, a place that I have wanted to play for a long time… and it was amazing! When I visited New York for the first time in the summer of 2009 I completely fell in love with Rockwood and I have been building up to playing there ever since. I was joined on stage by some dear friends and they played a complete stormer… we had Kenny Shaw on drums, Robert Pawlings on bass guitar and Sir Jacob Pleakis on Piano. Special thanks also to Drew who did our sound for the show, a real professional and a gent. We squeezed in 10 tracks and the set list was as follows:

1. Building a Picture

2. Fair Weather

3. For the Meantime

4. It Slows Down

5. Corner of the Room

6. I Already Know

7. Training up my Soul

8. Always to Blame

9. Closing Doors

10. Simple Gesture

It was nice for me to debut a brand new tune called “Training up my Soul.” The band only got a quick run through this song the day before the show and you could never have told. Drew did a great job of recording the set and it was nice to wake up this morning and relive it, and I hope to get some of this online very soon for anyone who wasn’t able to make it down!

I want to thank each and everyone who made the effort to come along to see us, I felt really humbled to look down and see a packed room. I know a few people got off work early, and some travelled long distances to make the show, and it really means the world to me when I hear things like that. Thank you all so much!!

The next confirmed show is on 26th of April at Petes Candy Store… but I may have another show before that date, just watch this space for this updates.

Rock on good people!!

Heres a little snap from my friend Alexis’ phone, should have more pics from last night soon!
